Why did we create Bobohelper?

We’re first-time parents. We’re blessed with a little boy we named Darren. Darren was born one month early. Weighed about four pounds, Darren spent his first two weeks in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. While in the NICU, we picked up many good practices from the doctors and nurses - one of which was baby tracking. When we brought Darren home, we started doing our own tracking using an Excel spreadsheet. While we are very proficient in Excel, we also found it limiting in various aspects. One day we just decided to move the Excel spreadsheet onto a web application. Bobohelper was born!

Who Are We?

First and foremost, we call ourselves parents as that is our most important role. While the pre-baby era seems eons ago, it wasn’t too long ago when we thought our identities were defined by our professions and careers. Vincent is a veteran in the Silicon Valley with experience in developing a wide range of user-centric software. Michelle was the Director of Online Marketing at a global beauty retailer before deciding to stay home to be a full-time mom.

Why Bobohelper.com?

We've used Bobohelper for months. Bobohelper has given us a lot of insights into Darren’s habits, tendencies, and patterns. As we talked to fellow parents, we realized that everyone was tracking their babies to varying degrees. By making Bobohelper available to other parents, our hope is that we can help others like so many others have helped us. As Darren grows and our community expands, we hope to make Bobohelper more useful.

What does Bobo mean?

"Bo Bo" literally means “Precious Precious” in Cantonese. It is often used by parents to call their babies in an affectionate way.
