bedtime ritual

hi - i weaned my daughter at 9 months and it was challenging as well b/c she was so used to feeding to fall asleep. does your baby take the bottle? once my daughter started taking the bottle, things got a bit easier. we also have a very set, long, bedtime ritual that includes bath time, milk (I let her watch a bit of TV while she takes her milk as a treat), flossing/brushing teeth, reading books, flipping her pillows over (weird, I know), turning out the night light, saying a little prayer and kissing like a milion times. one night my daughter had the biggest meltdown and refused to go down... later she told me it was b/c she didn't get her milk... so kids get very used to bedtime routines and i think that gives them a sense of security... good luck.

i'm planning to wean my 13.5-month-old in a week or so and i'm dreading it, not so much because of the weaning itself, but because i've been nursing him to sleep for naps and nighttime since he was born. i know--bad habit! it's just worked for us and now it's time to stop. :( so i'm curious what other moms' bedtime ritual is to get their little ones to calm down, relax, and get drowsy and ready for bed. thanks in advance for your tips!
