According to The Inside Scoop of SFGate (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/10/28/FDI413P1C7.DTL):
Bernal bakery: Mutsumi Takehara, who started her pastry career behind the
counter at La Farine in Berkeley, has always wanted to have her own bakery, and
now the former Slanted Door executive pastry chef is about to realize her dream.
In April, she plans to open Sandbox Bakery in San Francisco's Bernal Heights
(833 Cortland Ave.).
Appropriate to the family-friendly neighborhood - and the fact that Takehara is
expecting her second child any day - she will make it parent-friendly by
offering wheat-free, egg-free and low-sugar goodies. There will also be
traditional breakfast pastries and small decorated cakes that she compares to
jewel boxes.
