Driving me "Out the Door"

The Westfield Center in downtown San Francisco is a great place to shop and eat. However, the food court can be a little intimidating with the tight space between tables and the large crowd. That's why my wife and I opted for a sit-down lunch at Out the Door today. While we love the food and service of Slanted Door, Out the Door does not live up to the same standard of its elder sibling. For example, today we didn't get our food until 40 minutes after ordering. During that 40 minutes, my 15-month-old son had finished his lunch and started to get impatient (rightfully so) about sitting down for too long.

I talked to the manager and he said,"We are not a fast food restaurant ... It usually takes 30 minutes for the food to come out." Hmmm... I can't think of any restaurant that would take 30 minutes to make rice noodles and a sandwich.

I am afraid that we might not able to return to a restaurant with that kind of speed. I really can't take the chance of a total meltdown of a 15-month-old baby.
